Mstar’s gameplay falls into two categories, “Bubble Battle” and “Dance Battle”. There are up to 8 different game modes under each category. Read on to find out more.
Bubble Battle
Bubble Battle Fever Mode
Listen closely to the music, feel the beat, and pop the bubbles! Notice which way the arrows in the spheres are pointing, position your fingers on the keyboard and use the shrinking bubbles as a visual indicator when you should tap on your arrow keys! As the bubbles shrink and align with the circular spheres, tap on the corresponding arrow keys on your keyboard to pop the bubbles! After each round, a blue bar will appear with a mid point indicator. This bar will fill up from both ends. As they meet in the middle, hit the Spacebar Perfect→Great→Good→Bad→Miss. Perfect moves will earn you bonus points. It’s all hand-eye coordination here and practice makes perfect.
Bubble Battle Couple Mode
This is a boy-girl couple mode. Invite a friend of the opposite sex or your significant other to start the game! As the bubble shrinks and aligns with the directional spheres, tap on the corresponding directional keys on your keyboard to pop the bubbles! This mode will test your coordination as a couple. The better you’re in sync with your partner, the more points you will get!
Bubble Battle Item Mode
During the game, you can receive various useful items which you can use attack your opponents or defend yourself from their onslaught!
Bubble Battle Superstar Mode
In this mode, the NPC will be your trainer! Not only do you have to pop all music notes, you also need to complete the tasks that the NPC gives you. Finish all that and you will be rewarded ;)
Bubble Battle Team Mode
Team Mode allows you to play against opponents in a 2v2 or 3v3 dance battle. The team with the higher score wins!
Bubble Battle All-Kill Team Mode
This mode is similar to the Bubble Battle Team Mode mentioned above but with an additional 1v1 segment. To remain in the game, you will have to beat your opponent during the 1v1 showdown.
Bubble Battle Meeting Mode
Once you have a total of 3 girls and 3 boys, you can begin this social game mode. This mode is like a matchmaking game show. If you’re a boy, pick your dream girl and vice versa. If the selection is mutual, it’s a successful match made in heaven!
Dance Battle
Dance Battle Neo Classic Mode
Gameplay for the Star Battle Mode is similar to the Bubble Battle Mode; however different difficulties ranging from Class C to Class S can be selected based on individual skills!
Dance Battle Classic Mode
This is the most basic of all Dance Battle modes. Hit the corresponding directional keys according to the rhythm and beat of the music. Timing your moves accurately is extremely important here as the player with the best accuracy will be featured in the center of the stage to perform a special dance move which will award bonus points!
Dance Battle Star Mode
Gameplay for this mode is similar to the standard mode, with an additional element of psychological manipulation! At the end of each round, hit the spacebar to scatter stars. You can throw up to a minimum of 1 star to a maximum of 5 stars. The player who threw out the highest number of stars gets to collect all the stars scattered on the ground. Collecting stars will give you bonus points! If three or more players throws out the same number of stars in the first round (which also happens to be the highest number of stars), all the scattered stars will be left uncollected on the ground till the second round. If it is a tie between two players, the scattered stars will be split equally between the two.
Dance Battle Jackpot Mode
Gameplay for this mode is similar to the standard mode. At the end of each round, the game system will reveal a random number between 1 ~ 5. Players can choose to throw out between 1 ~ 5 stars representing their guess before the random number is revealed. The winner gets to collect all the scattered stars for bonus points. If three or more players made the correct guess in the first round, all the scattered stars will be left uncollected on the ground till the second round. If it is a tie between two players, the scattered stars will be split equally between the two.
Dance Battle Classic Team Mode
Dance Battle Classic Team Mode allows you to play against opponents in a 2v2 or 3v3 dance battle. The team with the higher score wins!
Dance Battle Star Team Mode
In this mode, you can choose to play the Dance Battle Star Mode as a team in a 2v2 or 3v3 dance battle.
Dance Battle Perfect Classic Mode
This is on a complete different level as compared to the standard mode. Made for the elite player, difficulty is increased as points are allocated according to the accuracy of your moves to the rhythmn of the music. In this mode, the score system awards points for your moves according to the verdict of each move (MISS, BAD, GOOD, GREAT, PERFECT) with Perfect netting you the highest scores!
Dance Battle Constellation Mode
In each round, there will be a target number of stars to be achieved in order to complete a star constellation. The objective of this mode is to collect enough stars to meet the target. For example, if the target is 7 stars, you will need to successfully complete 7 rounds to collect all 7 stars. The number of stars required will vary with the number of players participating in the game. The more players you have, the less stars you will need to collect.
